ANALISIS KESULITAN MURID KELAS V DALAM MENGGAMBAR SUDUT PADA PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA DI SDIT ADZKIA 3 PADANG

Abstract

This research is motivated by the large number of students in grade V of SDIT Adzkia 3 Padang who have difficulty in drawing angles using protractors. This difficulty has an impact on the low understanding of the overall geometry concept of students. The purpose of this study is to analyze the form of difficulty experienced by grade V students in drawing angles and the factors behind them. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, angle drawing tests, and documentation. The subjects of the study were 27 students of class V and one classroom teacher.  Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results showed that the most dominant forms of difficulty were difficulty determining the center point of the protractor (37%), difficulty reading the angular scale (56%), errors using the inner and outer scales (52%), and difficulty drawing the angular line correctly (44%). Factors causing difficulties include internal factors such as lack of understanding of concepts, low precision, and lack of interest in learning; as well as external factors such as limited learning media, less varied learning methods, and lack of guided exercise. This study concludes that concrete media-based learning innovations and contextual approaches are needed to overcome students' difficulties in drawing angles.
