PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROJECT BASED LEARNING TERHADAP MINAT BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN IPS DI SMP PEMBANGUNAN LABORATORIUM UNP

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application and effect of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on students' learning interest in Social Studies (IPS) at SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium, Padang State University (UNP). This study used a quantitative research method with a quasi-experimental design. The study sample consisted of 50 students, consisting of 25 in the experimental class and 25 in the control class. Data collection techniques used student learning interest figures. Data analysis was conducted through validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests using IBM SPSS Statistics version 26. The results showed that before the pre-treatment, there was no significant difference between the experimental and control classes, with a calculated t value of 1.291 < t table = 1.677. After treatment (post-treatment), there was a significant difference between the two classes, with a calculated t-value of 2.244 > t-table of 1.677. Furthermore, the average student interest in learning increased from 88.56 to 93.16 after implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. This increase indicates that the PjBL learning model can make students more active, enthusiastic, and directly involved in the learning process, thereby increasing student interest in social studies.
