Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of technology utilization in supporting school literacy programs and examine its relationship with students’ literacy interest among fifth-grade students at SDN 2 Keresek. The study is motivated by the increasing demand for digital literacy in the 21st century, where students are expected not only to read and write but also to critically understand and utilize information through digital media. However, technology use among elementary school students is still largely oriented toward entertainment rather than educational purposes. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational method. The sample consisted of 15 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation. The results indicate that technology utilization is categorized as high, with an average score of 78.53. There is a significant and strong relationship between technology utilization and students’ literacy interest (r =0.652; p< 0.001). The use of digital technology contributes to increasing students’ engagement, motivation, and participation in literacy activities. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure, unequal access, and lack of optimal guidance remain. Therefore, strengthening the integration of technology in literacy programs is essential to improve the effectiveness and quality of elementary education.
