POLA PERJALANAN WISATA GASTRONOMI DI MUARA KARANG

Abstract

This study examines gastronomic tourism and the exploration of culinary travel patterns in Muara Karang, North Jakarta, as one of the growing culinary destinations in Jakarta. The research aims to identify how culinary destination mapping, tourist preferences, and travel patterns influence the effectiveness of Muara Karang as a gastronomic tourism destination.The study applies a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach, using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, consisting of tourists and restaurant managers in the Muara Karang area. Data were analyzed thematically by examining tourist motivation, visit routes, visiting time, and preferred culinary attractions.The findings show that Muara Karang has strong potential as a gastronomic tourism destination due to its culinary diversity, well-known legendary food spots, good accessibility, and authentic dining experiences. Tourist travel patterns tend to form interconnected routes across restaurants, driven mainly by the desire for distinctive culinary experiences, dining atmosphere, and convenience of access. However, destination development still faces challenges related to cleanliness, infrastructure, and service quality consistency.
