Abstract

This study is based on the importance of parents' role as the first educational environment in shaping students’ learning discipline, which is a key factor in the success of the learning process. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of parental support on students’ learning discipline at Genteng Elementary School, Sukabumi City. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The sample consisted of 40 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected comprehensively through Likert-scale questionnaires, direct observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The collected data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, descriptive analysis, simple linear regression, coefficient of determination (R²), and hypothesis testing (t-test). The results of the descriptive analysis indicated that the level of parental support was categorized as very high, while students’ learning discipline was categorized as high to very high. The simple linear regression analysis produced a coefficient value of 0.693 with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that parental support has a positive and significant effect on students’ learning discipline. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.572, which means that parental support contributed 57.2% to students’ learning discipline, while the remaining 42.8% was influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. The findings confirm that the higher the parental support provided, the higher the level of students’ learning discipline.
