Stress is a condition commonly experienced by individuals as a response to various demands and pressures encountered in daily life. If not managed properly, stress can negatively affect physical health, psychological well-being, and social functioning. One of the factors that influences the effectiveness of stress management is individual behavior in dealing with stressful situatio ns. In the book Stress and Strategies for Managing Stress, Menaldi, Asih, and Buchari (2022) explain that adaptive behaviors, such as self-control, positive thinking, maintaining social relationships, and adopting a healthy lifestyle, can help individuals reduce the negative effects of stress. Meanwhile, Saleh, Russeng, and Tadjuddin (2020), in their book Work Stress Management: An Occupational Safety and Health Study from the Psychological Perspective of Air Traffic Controllers (ATC), state that effective time management, regular physical activity, and the application of relaxation techniques are behavioral strategies that can effectively reduce psychological pressure. In contrast, maladaptive behaviors, including procrastination, poor emotional regulation, and unhealthy lifestyle habits, may increase the risk of experiencing higher levels of stress. This article aims to examine the influence of behavior on stress management based on various book references published within the last six years. The findings indicate that behavior plays a significant role in determining an individual’s ability to manage stress effectively. Therefore, the development of positive behaviors should be encouraged through education, habituation, and environmental support so that individuals can cope with life challenges more effectively and achieve optimal psychological well-being.
