STRATEGI MANAJEMEN KEPALA SEKOLAH TERKAIT MITIGASI BENCANA MELALUI KEARIFAN LOKAL MUANG JONG DI SD NEGERI 19 SIJUK, BELITUNG

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the principal's management strategy in disaster mitigation through the local wisdom of Muang Jong at SD Negeri 19 Sijuk, Belitung. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, students, and community members selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which included data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results showed that the principal implemented disaster mitigation management through planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activities integrated with the local wisdom values of Muang Jong. The implementation was carried out through learning activities, disaster simulations, and collaboration with community leaders and local communities. The values of togetherness, environmental awareness, and respect for nature contained in the Muang Jong tradition contributed positively to improving students’ understanding and preparedness toward disaster risks. The integration of local wisdom into disaster mitigation programs also strengthened a disaster-aware culture within the school environment.
