Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies of teachers and parents in addressing students' learning anxiety in science at Sunan Bonang II Islamic Elementary School. Learning anxiety is a psychological condition frequently experienced by students and can affect concentration, motivation, and learning outcomes. Science is considered quite challenging because it combines natural and social science concepts, requiring understanding, observation, and critical thinking skills. Therefore, collaboration between teachers and parents is necessary to help students overcome learning anxiety to make the learning process more effective and enjoyable. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Subjects included classroom teachers, parents, and students at Sunan Bonang II Islamic Elementary School. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was achieved through triangulation of sources and techniques.The results showed that teachers' strategies in reducing students' learning anxiety included the use of varied learning methods, providing motivation and positive reinforcement, engaging with students in a personal manner, and creating a comfortable and enjoyable classroom atmosphere. Meanwhile, parental strategies include providing attention and support during home learning, building good communication with children, providing emotional support, and actively collaborating with teachers. Collaboration between teachers and parents has been proven to help students become more confident, more active in learning, and reduce fear during science lessons. Thus, synergy between the school and family environment plays a crucial role in supporting students' psychological health and academic success.
