Abstract

The degree of gross motor skills, particularly locomotor and object control skills, of male futsal players under the age of 10 at SC Academy Sidoarjo is the focus of this study. Despite the critical role gross motor skill development plays in promoting children’s participation in physical activity and sports, few studies have looked at young athletes participating in organized futsal intruction. As a result, the Test of Gross Motor Development-2 (TGMD-2) will be used in this research to assess the gross motor skill level of these athletes. Using a quantitative descriptive methodology with a survey approach, this study included the entire 15 players as the research sample. Performance criteria scoring was used to evaluate the data collered trough locomotor skill tests, such as run, gallop, hop, leap, horizontal jump, and slide. Due to the scarcity of age-based normative data, the results werw analyzed using percentage-based descriptive statistics. The study showed taht the players had a high degree of competence in gross motor abilities, with scores ranging from 87% to 96% and an average of 93%. This implies that the majority of players have well-developed fundamental movement abilities that are backed by routine training and regular physical exercise. Overall, SC Academy players have good gross motor skills. The study suggests that well-structured and consistent training regimens can succesfully promote children’s motor development, and further research should examine other elements that affect how motor skill develop.
