Analisis Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Kepercayaan Diri Siswa Kelas IV SDN Socah 2 Dalam Diskusi Pembelajaran

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the self-confidence of fourth-grade students at SDN Socah 2, Bangkalan Regency, in learning discussion activities. Self-confidence is a crucial aspect supporting students' success in participating in the learning process, especially when discussing and expressing opinions. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative research type. The research subjects consisted of 19 fourth-grade students and the fourth-grade teacher at SDN Socah 2, Bangkalan Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was obtained through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results show that students' self-confidence in learning discussions is influenced by three main factors: fear of making mistakes, peer support, and teacher support. Fear of making mistakes is an obstacle that causes some students to hesitate to express opinions. Meanwhile, peer support helps increase students' courage to speak and participate in discussions. Additionally, teacher support is the most dominant factor in increasing students' self-confidence through providing opportunities to speak, motivation, appreciation, and positive reinforcement. Thus, efforts to increase students' self-confidence need to be made through collaboration between teachers, peers, and a supportive learning environment so that students can participate optimally in learning discussion activities.
