UPAYA ORANG TUA DALAM MEMBENTUK AKHLAK ANAK DI MAN 1 TEBO

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the efforts made by parents in shaping the moral character of their children at MAN 1 Tebo, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing this process. Moral development is one of the primary responsibilities of parents as the first and foremost educators within the family. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving parents, students, and school personnel. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that parents play a significant role in shaping their children's moral character through several efforts, including providing positive role models, instilling good habits, giving advice and guidance, supervising children's social interactions, and fostering religious values in daily life. Supporting factors include strong cooperation between parents and the school, a religious family environment, and students’ awareness of applying moral values in their daily behavior. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors consist of negative peer influence, uncontrolled use of social media, and limited parental time for supervision and guidance. Therefore, the successful development of children's moral character requires collaboration among parents, schools, and the wider community.
