Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the implementation of a digital meritocracy-based human resource management model in Islamic education across five Islamic Elementary Schools (Sekolah Dasar Islam/SDI) in Jagakarsa District, South Jakarta, namely SDI Al Hidayah, SDI Teladan, SDI Taman Quraniyah, SDI Al Bayyinah, and SDI Anuriyah. The study is motivated by the challenges of educational transformation in the Society 5.0 era and the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, which require educational institutions to develop professional, transparent, technology-adaptive, and value-oriented human resource management systems. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a multi-site design. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, digital documentation, and focus group discussions involving 85 teachers, five principals, and five educational foundations. Data analysis followed the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the “3R Digital Amanah” model, consisting of Digital Recruitment, Career Revolution, and Performance Reflection, significantly strengthens the management of human resources in Islamic schools. Recruitment efficiency reached an average of 77%, while 81% of teachers reported clearer career development pathways, and 84% achieved good to very good performance categories through a reflective e-supervision system. The implementation of digital meritocracy also promotes transparency, accountability, objectivity, and the Islamic value of amanah in managerial decision-making processes. By utilizing free digital platforms such as Google Workspace for Education, the model offers a practical and innovative solution for Islamic educational institutions with limited resources. Therefore, this model has the potential to become a reference for improving educational quality and sustainable human resource development in Islamic schools.
