EFEKTIFITAS PERAN PENGASUHAN DALAM PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER RELIGIUS SANTRI BOARDING SCHOOL MA'HAD DARUL MUHSIN MAN 2 KOTA PALU

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of caregiving in forming the religious character of students and to identify the implications of the caregiving role on the religious character of students at Pesantren Modern Darul Muhsin MAN 2 Palu City. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study strategy. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews with ten informants consisting of the boarding school principal, administrators, caregivers, students, and alumni, as well as institutional documentation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively through stages of transcription, categorization, and triangulation of both sources and techniques. The results indicate that caregiving implementation was carried out through an integrated 24-hour system with seven integrative roles of caregivers, namely as role model, advisor, trainer, manager, motivator, preacher, and parental figure, supported by the synergy of administrators and the Student Management Organization (OPS). The implications of this system produced a comprehensive transformation of students' religious character, encompassing the formation of independent spiritual discipline, noble character, religious and social independence, stable religious identity, and worship-oriented learning motivation. These findings contribute to the achievement of SDG 4 on quality education, SDG 3 on mental health and well-being of the younger generation, and SDG 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions.
