PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS MELALUI MODEL PROJECT BASED LEARNING PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPA KELAS IV DI SD USWATUN HASANAH

Abstract

This research aims to improve students’ critical thinking skills in science learning in Class IV at SD Uswatun Hasanah, North Jakarta, through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. This study uses the classroom action research (CAR) method adapted from the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research was conducted at SD Uswatun Hasanah. The subjects of this classroom action research were 28 students of Class IV- A at SD Uswatun Hasanah, consisting of 15 male and 13 female students. The Minimum Mastery Criteria for the critical thinking test in science was set at a score of ≥75, with a target mastery of 80% of all students. The results showed an improvement in critical thinking skills after applying the Project Based Learning model in teaching, as evidenced by the increase in students’ critical thinking skills in each cycle. The percentage of students’ critical thinking skills in the pre-cycle was 36%. In Cycle I, after learning using the Project Based Learning model, there was a significant increase to 71%. In Cycle II, students’ critical thinking skills increased again to 89%. Thus, it can be concluded that learning using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model can improve students’ critical thinking skills
