KAJIAN STILISTIKA DAN NILAI KEARIFAN LOKAL BUGIS-LUWU DALAM CERITA RAKYAT "PUTRI TANDAMPALIK KEBANGGAAN KERAJAAN LUWU" KARYA ANDHIKA AFIFAH NURJANNAH DAN AZIZATUZ ZAHRO

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the stylistic aspects and identify the Bugis-Luwu local wisdom values constructed in the folklore “Putri Tandampalik Kebanggaan Kerajaan Luwu” (Princess Tandampalik, the Pride of the Luwu Kingdom) by Andhika Afifah Nurjannah and Azizatuz Zahro’ (CV. Beta Aksara, 2021). This research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach using the stylistic theory of Leech and Short (2007), the local wisdom concept of Sartini (2004), and the Bugis worldview according to Mattulada (1985). Data were collected through close reading techniques applied to the entire text consisting of six story segments. The research instrument consisted of data cards with three analytical categories: lexical category, figures of speech and imagery category, and local wisdom values category. The results indicate that stylistically, this folklore utilizes: (1) culturally layered diction in the form of South Sulawesi identity marker lexicons including Bodo clothing, Lipa’ Sabbe, Songko’ Pamiring, and the heirloom badik; (2) multisensory natural imagery (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) that functions as a value marker and narrative atmosphere builder; (3) repetitive-affirmative language style in cumulatively building character traits; and (4) personification and hyperbole that construct the mystical-religious dimension. The Bugis-Luwu local wisdom values found encompass the four pillars of sulapa eppa: (1) siri’ na pacce manifested in Princess Tandampalik’s rejection of a power-based marriage proposal; (2) lempu’ in all inter-character relationship patterns; (3) acca represented through female leadership on Wajo Island; and (4) getteng in facing illness and exile; supplemented by deliberative consensus values in diplomatic conflict resolution, and tawakkal to God as the characters’ spiritual foundation. This study concludes that this folklore serves as a vehicle for transmitting the sulapa eppa value system packaged in a narrative relevant to young readers with great potential as character-based local literary teaching material.
