KONSEP PENDIDIKAN TAUHID SEBAGAI PENDIDIKAN DASAR DALAM PENDIDIKAN ISLAM PERSPEKTIF HAMKA

Abstract

Islamic education in the modern era faces a serious challenge in the form of a dichotomy of science and materialistic pragmatism that has an impact on the moral and spiritual crisis of students. This paper aims to examine the concept of monotheism education as the main foundation of Islamic education based on the thoughts of Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah (Hamka). This research uses a library research method with a content analysis approach to Hamka's monumental works. The results of the study indicate that: (1) Monotheism education is the basic education of Islamic education. Three urgencies of monotheism education in Islamic education, namely monotheism education is the essence of Islamic teachings, monotheism education is the main mission of the apostles, and monotheism education is the source of all noble morals; and (2) Monotheism in Hamka's epistemology is not merely a theological dogma, but a liberating paradigm and driving force for equality and the pursuit of knowledge. The material of monotheism education consists of six pillars of faith. If students understand these pillars of faith in depth, it will produce a generation with strong faith and noble morals.
