SOSIOLOGI SASTRA TERHADAP HUBUNGAN PERSAHABATAN DALAM NOVEL PULANG-PERGI KARYA TERE LIYE

Abstract

This study, titled “Literary Sociology of Friendship in Tere Liye’s Novel Pulang-Pergi,” aims to describe the forms and social values of friendship as represented in the literary work. The study employs a qualitative approach using descriptive-analytical methods from the perspective of literary sociology. The research data consists of text excerpts depicting interactions between characters in the novel, while the primary data source is the novel *Pulang-Pergi*. Data collection was conducted through reading and note-taking, while data analysis utilized content analysis with the stages of reduction, classification, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the friendships in this novel are divided into four main forms: loyalty, trust, solidarity, and sacrifice. These four forms reflect strong social values and demonstrate that friendship is not merely emotional but also a social construct influenced by the conditions and conflicts faced by the characters. Thus, this novel effectively represents social reality through the complex dynamics of friendship.
