Today, demands regarding the quality of Islamic educational institutions no longer focus solely on fulfilling cognitive and religious aspects, but rather on adaptive, efficient, and accountable institutional governance through the School-Based Management (SBM) framework. However, the adoption of a secular SBM approach often gets bogged down in bureaucratic formalities and loses its spiritual essence. This study aims to formulate an epistemological integration model that brings together the technocratic instruments of Western SBM with the authenticity of the prophetic tradition through a study of itqan hadiths. Using a qualitative method of the library research type with an integrative-epistemological approach, this study applies thematic (maudhu'i) hadith takhrij techniques and content analysis of contemporary managerial literature. The research results indicate that the primary hadith on itqan, as narrated by Al-Baihaqi, possesses a valid chain of transmission (at least hasan lighairihi) and embodies the essence of flawless work quality (zero defect). When synthesized with the pillars of autonomy, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement in the MBS style, the values of itqan, ihsan, and competence (kafa'ah) transform mechanistic school governance into organic governance. This study successfully formulated the “Itqan-MBS Quality Governance Model,” which integrates administrative accountability with transcendental accountability (muraqabah). This model has significant implications for reconstructing a culture of quality
