ANALISIS KEBUTUHAN PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN IPA MATERI PUBERTAS DI SEKOLAH DASAR

This study aims to describe the conditions of science learning media use on the puberty topic at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) as an empirical foundation for developing more effective media. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using direct classroom observation in Grade 5. The research subjects consisted of 28 fifth-grade students at a MIN in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province. Data were collected through non-participatory observation of the learning process and the teacher's media use. Findings indicate that the teacher relied solely on PowerPoint slides containing bullet-point descriptions of puberty characteristics, with no supporting visual illustrations. This condition resulted in a monotonous delivery that failed to concretely visualize biological changes for students. The results of this observational study indicate a need to develop puberty learning media that are visually richer, interactive, and child-friendly, particularly within the madrasah ibtidaiyah context.
