HUBUNGAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR BAHASA INDONESIA SISWA KELAS V SDN 72 BUTON

Abstract

This study aims to measure the contribution of learning motivation to Indonesian language academic achievement and map the strength of their relationship among fifth-grade students at SDN 72 Buton. An ex post facto design within a quantitative framework served as the methodological foundation. All 18 students were designated as the unit of analysis through total sampling. Learning motivation data were collected using a four-point Likert scale questionnaire (25 items), while achievement data were sourced from mid-semester examination scores. Data analysis encompassed normality testing, linearity testing, Pearson Product Moment correlation, t-test, and coefficient of determination using SPSS. Results revealed a mean learning motivation of 89.57 with 88.9% of students in the high category. Indonesian language achievement recorded a mean of 78.14, with 61.1% of students in the moderate category and 38.9% in the high category. A correlation coefficient of r = 0.681 indicates a strong positive relationship, confirmed by a t-test significance value of 0.002. Learning motivation accounted for 46.4% of the variance in academic achievement. These findings affirm that consistently nurturing learning motivation is a strategic investment in realizing quality education as mandated by SDG Goal Four.
