This study aims to examine the integration of philosophical, historical, socio-cultural, psychological, and juridical foundations in shaping the future of Indonesian education that is competitive and sustainable. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature study approach by analyzing various scientific sources, educational policies, and related documents to obtain a comprehensive understanding. The results indicate that the integration of these five foundations can strengthen the direction of national education policy, enhance the relevance of learning to contemporary needs, and develop adaptive and globally competitive learners. The philosophical foundation provides values and educational goals, the historical foundation enriches learning from past experiences, the socio-cultural foundation ensures alignment with societal contexts, the psychological foundation supports optimal learner development, and the juridical foundation guarantees certainty and sustainability within the education system. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the synergy of these five foundations is key to building an inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable national education system amid global challenges.
