Abstract

Transformational leadership is a leadership approach that emphasizes a leader’s ability to inspire and transform individuals and organizations toward positive change. However, studies on transformational leadership have largely focused on organizational effectiveness, while the axiological dimensions encompassing values, ethics, and morality have received limited attention. This study aims to analyze the axiology of transformational leadership through the perspectives of values, ethics, and morality as fundamental elements in developing sustainable and integrity-based leadership. This research employed a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from relevant scientific literature and analyzed through content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that values serve as the foundation that determines the direction and objectives of transformational leadership, ethics functions as a normative guideline in the exercise of power and decision-making processes, while morality represents the practical manifestation of values and ethics in leadership behavior. The integration of values, ethics, and morality produces transformational leadership that is not only effective in achieving organizational goals but also possesses moral legitimacy, fosters trust, and promotes sustainable social transformation. This study contributes conceptually to the development of transformational leadership theory by emphasizing the importance of axiological dimensions as the basis of contemporary leadership practices.
