PERAN GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER RELIGIUS MELALUI PROGRAM TAHFIDZ SISWA KELAS XI TEKNIK KOMPUTER DAN JARINGAN DI SMK AL-MADANI PONTIANAK

Abstract

This study discusses the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping the religious character of Grade XI Computer and Network Engineering students through the tahfidz program at Al-Madani Vocational High School in Pontianak. The background of this study is based on the importance of teachers' roles in guiding students to avoid the negative impacts of technological development and to develop into individuals with noble character and responsibility. The Qur'an memorization (tahfidz) program is one of the efforts implemented by the school to instill religious values such as discipline, patience, responsibility, and love for the Qur'an, while also enhancing students' spiritual awareness in the digital era. This study aims to explore the strategies used by Islamic Religious Education teachers in shaping students' religious character through the tahfidz program. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers play a central role as mentors, facilitators, and motivators in implementing the tahfidz program. The program contributes to the development of students' religious character and supports the creation of a generation with noble morals and strong spiritual awareness amid the advancement of technology and modern culture.
