STRATEGI GURU FIQIH DALAM MENGATASI KESULITAN BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI FIQIH DI MAN 4 DENANYAR JOMBANG

Abstract

Learning difficulties in Fiqh subjects are a recurring challenge in Islamic educational institutions, given that Fiqh material demands not only cognitive mastery but also the internalization of values and practical skills in applying Islamic law. This study aims to describe the strategies of Fiqh teachers in overcoming students' learning difficulties in Fiqh material at MAN 4 Denanyar Jombang, identify the supporting and inhibiting factors, and analyze the impact of these strategies on students' understanding. A descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design was employed; data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with the principal, Fiqh teacher, and students, as well as documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, and data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. Findings reveal four integrated strategies: the use of varied learning methods, individual approaches, utilization of learning media, and evaluation with remedial teaching. Key supporting factors include a religious madrasah environment, institutional policy, teacher exemplary conduct, school–parent cooperation, and peer support. Inhibiting factors encompass students' diverse backgrounds, external environmental influences, limited instructional time, lack of awareness among some students, and insufficient parental supervision at home. The integrated implementation of these strategies demonstrably improved both students' theoretical understanding and their practical application of Fiqh in daily life.
