ABSTRACT
Mental health is a crucial aspect of human well-being influenced by psychological and spiritual factors. In religious societies, psychotherapeutic approaches integrating spiritual values are increasingly relevant. One promising approach is ikhlas-based psychotherapy, which emphasizes acceptance, surrender to God, and meaning-making in life experiences. This study aims to conceptually examine ikhlas psychotherapy as an alternative approach to improving mental health based on Islamic values. The method used is a library research approach, analyzing relevant literature from both modern and Islamic psychology perspectives. The findings indicate that ikhlas psychotherapy aligns with the principle of acceptance in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while offering a distinct spiritual dimension that provides transcendent meaning. This approach operates through emotional acceptance, spiritually grounded cognitive restructuring, and meaning-making processes, contributing to reduced anxiety, enhanced resilience, and improved psychological well-being. Therefore, ikhlas psychotherapy represents an integrative and contextual approach with strong potential for development in counseling practice and future empirical research.
