POLA PEMBINAAN AKHLAK SANTRI DI YAYASAN CINTA YATIM DAN DHUAFA CIREUNDEU – CIPUTAT TIMUR – TANGERANG SELATAN

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the pattern of moral (akhlak) development among students (santri) at Yayasan Cinta Yatim dan Dhuafa, located in Cireundeu, Ciputat Timur, South Tangerang. The background of this research lies in the significance of moral education as the foundation of students’ character, particularly for orphans and underprivileged children who face various social and economic challenges. The moral development at this foundation is implemented through multiple approaches, including exemplary role models, habituation, religious education, and active involvement in social and religious activities. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation study. The main focus of the study is the pattern of moral development, which includes the strategies, methods, and media used in shaping students’ character. The sub-focus covers: (1) methods of moral development, (2) the role of educators and caregivers, and (3) challenges in the process of character formation. The findings indicate that the foundation applies Islamic values-based character development, emphasizing the importance of exemplary educators, daily discipline, and habitual worship practices. Programs such as Santri Maghrib Mengaji and Pesantren Cinta Yatim dan Dhuafa serve as important platforms for instilling noble character. The main challenges include limited human resources and the heterogeneous background of the students. Nevertheless, the integrative approach applied by the foundation has proven effective in nurturing both personal and social piety among students. This study recommends strengthening the capacity of educators, developing character-based programs, and fostering more active involvement of the community and parents to enhance the success of moral development. The results are expected to serve as a reference for developing moral education models in similar institutions.
