PENGGUNAAN APLIKASI WEB GURINDAM 12 PADA PERKULIAHAN TAMADUN DAN TUNJUK AJAR MELAYU UNTUK PENGUATAN KARAKTER MAHASISWA CALON GURU PRODI PBSI FKIP ANGKATAN 2022

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of the Gurindam 12 web application in the Tamadun and Malay Moral Teachings course to strengthen the character of prospective teacher students in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Cohort 2022. The study is motivated by the importance of integrating local wisdom-based learning technology into higher education to foster students’ character development in the digital era. Gurindam 12, written by Raja Ali Haji, contains religious, moral, ethical, responsibility, and disciplinary values that are highly relevant to the formation of future educators’ character. This study employed a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. The participants were students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program (PBSI), FKIP, Cohort 2022, enrolled in the Tamadun and Malay Moral Teachings course. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to identify changes in students’ character development, while qualitative data were analyzed interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the use of the Gurindam 12 web application positively contributes to strengthening students’ character, particularly in religiosity, responsibility, discipline, politeness, cooperation, and appreciation of Malay culture. The application also enhances student engagement and facilitates understanding of the moral values embedded in Gurindam 12. This study concludes that the Gurindam 12 web application is effective as a local wisdom-based learning medium for strengthening the character of prospective teacher students.
