STRATEGI PENANAMAN NILAI-NILAI OLIMPISME DALAM PEMBELAJARAN PJOK UNTUK MEMBANGUN KARAKTER SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

This study aims to examine strategies for instilling Olympism values in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning to develop the character of elementary school students. The study employed a qualitative approach using a literature review method. Data were collected from various national and international scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025, obtained through academic databases such as Google Scholar, SINTA, GARUDA, ERIC, and Scopus. The collected literature was analyzed through identification, evaluation, and synthesis processes to identify patterns, findings, and relevant concepts related to the implementation of Olympism values in physical education learning. The findings indicate that the core values of Olympism, namely excellence, respect, and friendship, can be effectively integrated into PJOK learning through cooperative activities, team-based games, sports education models, teacher role modeling, and reflective learning practices. The value of excellence contributes to the development of discipline, perseverance, and responsibility; respect fosters sportsmanship, tolerance, and adherence to rules; while friendship promotes cooperation, empathy, and social awareness among students. The review further reveals that the integration of Olympism values in PJOK not only supports students’ physical development but also strengthens character education in elementary schools. Therefore, Olympism-based learning strategies can serve as an effective approach to fostering students’ character development and supporting holistic education.
