PERANCANGAN SISTEM INFORMASI SURAT MASUK SURAT KELUAR BERBASIS WEB DI DINAS KESEHATAN PROVINSI JAMBI

Abstract

The management of incoming and outgoing mail is a crucial administrative activity in government institutions. As highlighted by Riswandi Ishak, Setiaji, and Fajar Akbar (2020), correspondence is a vital tool in administrative operations, especially in managing mail. The Jambi Provincial Health Office, which handles a high volume of correspondence, still relies on conventional methods, recording mail in agenda books and storing archives in physical stacks. This manual system creates several challenges, including inefficient data retrieval, excessive storage needs, and vulnerability to document damage. Furthermore, the lack of a streamlined process complicates information sharing during personnel changes. To overcome these issues, this research focuses on designing a web-based mail management system to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and security. Using the Research and Development (R&D) approach with mixed methods, system development follows the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) waterfall model, comprising stages such as requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance. The system is built with TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and PostgreSQL. The result is a digital solution to streamline mail management, improve archive search speeds, and enable automatic report generation. This innovation aims to boost productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness in administrative processes at the Jambi Provincial Health Office.
