IMPLEMENTASI REWARD DAN PUNISHMENT DALAM MENUMBUHKAN KEDISIPLINAN SISWA PADA PEMBELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN PANCASILA DI KELAS IV SD NEGERI 2 BUNUTIN BANGLI

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Reward and Punishment in fostering student discipline in Pancasila Education learning for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Bunutin Bangli, identify the obstacles faced by teachers, and examine the effects of its implementation. This qualitative descriptive study involved the principal, fourth-grade homeroom teacher, and students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Reward and Punishment were implemented through class rules, Rewards for disciplined behavior, and educational Punishments for rule violations. This strategy successfully improved student discipline, particularly in punctuality, responsibility, rule compliance, and respect during learning. Although teachers encountered challenges such as differences in student characteristics, inconsistent discipline, and classroom management issues, the implementation produced positive impacts, including increased learning motivation, participation, responsibility, and discipline awareness. However, some students became dependent on Rewards and showed reduced enthusiasm when Rewards were not provided. Overall, the study concludes that the consistent, educational, and proportionate application of Reward and Punishment effectively fosters student discipline in Pancasila Education learning.
