PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS CERPEN SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 3 KOTA SORONG

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the learning model on students’ short story writing skills in Grade VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Kota Sorong. This research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants consisted of 35 students. Data were collected through short story writing tests administered in the pretest and posttest stages. The data were analyzed using ANOVA, paired samples test, and effect size with the assistance of SPSS 25. The results showed that the learning model had a significant effect on students’ short story writing skills. This is indicated by the ANOVA significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and the paired samples test result of 0.000 < 0.05. The mean score increased from 71.89 in the pretest to 108.49 in the posttest. Therefore, the implemented learning model is effective in improving students’ short story writing skills.
