Abstract

Conceptual understanding is one of the essential skills that should be developed in the learning process, particularly in mathematics education. However, numerous studies have indicated that students' conceptual understanding remains relatively low. The use of technology-based learning media, such as PhET Simulation, is believed to enhance students' conceptual understanding. This study aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of PhET Simulation, analyze its role in improving students' mathematical conceptual understanding, and examine its effectiveness in the learning process. The research employed a literature review method by analyzing 40 relevant scientific articles. Data were collected using the PRISMA protocol and analyzed descriptively and comparatively to identify patterns and findings from previous studies. The results indicate that the use of PhET Simulation has a positive impact on improving students' conceptual understanding across various educational levels. This media encourages students to actively explore concepts, manipulate variables, and understand relationships among concepts in a more concrete and systematic manner. Therefore, PhET Simulation can serve as an effective alternative learning medium for enhancing students' mathematical conceptual understanding
