Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ learning motivation in Integrated Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning for fifth grade students at SDN 03 Bengkayang. Learning motivation is an important factor that influences students’ participation, enthusiasm, and achievement during the learning process. This research was conducted because several students still showed low motivation in participating in IPAS learning activities, such as limited participation, lack of confidence, and low involvement during classroom activities. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach to obtain an in-depth understanding of students’ learning motivation based on actual classroom conditions. The subjects of this study consisted of fifth grade students and the classroom teacher at SDN 03 Bengkayang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis process used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The study focused on several indicators of learning motivation, including students’ desire to succeed, encouragement and learning needs, persistence in learning activities, and involvement in classroom learning. The findings are expected to provide a comprehensive description of students’ learning motivation and the factors influencing it in IPAS learning. In addition, this research is expected to provide useful information for teachers in developing more interactive, engaging, and student-centered learning strategies to improve students’ motivation and participation in the classroom.
