MENINGKATKAN FOKUS SISWA PADA SAAT PEMBELAJARAN DENGAN METODE PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING PADA KELAS VII B SMPN 13 BANJARBARU

Abstract

Through “the use of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) paradigm in Class VII B of SMPN 13 Banjarbaru during the 2025–2026 academic year, this study aims to improve students' learning focus. Based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of preparation, action, observation, and reflection stages, this study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design. Twenty-eight students participated in this study, which was conducted in two cycles”. A learning focus survey, observation, and documentation were used to collect data. Attention during learning activities, focus when completing tasks, active involvement in learning, persistence, and learning discipline are indications of learning focus. The results showed that students' learning focus was successfully improved by the application of the Problem-Based Learning approach. “The achievement of learning focus was assessed as good in Cycle I at 62%, and very good in Cycle II at 80%. This shows an increase of 18% between Cycle I and Cycle II”. Thus, it can be said that the problem-based learning paradigm is very effective in improving students' concentration while learning.
