PEMROSESAN INFORMASI PERSPEKTIF IMAM AL-GHAZALI: KAJIAN KITAB RISALATUL LADUNNIYAH

Information processing is a central concept in cognitive psychology that is closely related to the learning process in Islam. This study aims to analyze Imam Al-Ghazali's views on information processing through a study of Kitab Risalatul Ladunniyah and Ihya' Ulumuddin. The method used is qualitative research with a library research approach through analysis of relevant library data. The results show that Imam Al-Ghazali views information processing as a process involving two main elements, namely reason (al-'aql) and soul (al-nafs). Reason functions as a tool to analyze, distinguish, and understand information rationally, while the pure soul (al-nafs al-shahihah) plays a role in internalizing information spiritually. Ghazali formulated that humans can access knowledge through two pathways: learning (ta'allum) and thinking (tafakkur). The implication of this view is that effective education must pay attention to the spiritual health of students in addition to developing their intellectual abilities, and emphasize the process of tazkiyatun nafs purification of the soul as an integral part of the learning process.
