IMPLEMENTASI KURIKULUM MADRASAH ALIYAH PLUS KETERAMPILAN DALAM UPAYA PENGEMBANGAN HARD SKILLS SISWA DI MAN 5 JOMBANG

Abstract

Madrasah Aliyah Plus Keterampilan (MAPK) is an innovative program initiated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia as a strategic response to the gap between the outcomes of madrasah education and the real demands of the world of work. This study aims to examine the implementation of the MAPK curriculum in developing students' hard skills at MAN 5 Jombang, while simultaneously identifying the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and were validated using source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that MAN 5 Jombang implements MAPK by adding six hours of skills-based learning per week outside the core curriculum, encompassing three areas of expertise: culinary arts, fashion and clothing, as well as furniture design and product engineering. The development of students' hard skills is realized through three main dimensions, namely knowledge reinforcement, technology mastery, and technical skills acquired through structured hands-on practice. The primary supporting factors include the madrasah's accommodative policies, the competence of teaching staff, the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure, and students' high intrinsic motivation. Conversely, limited equipment, restricted time allocation, heterogeneity in students' abilities, and budgetary constraints constitute inhibiting factors that require systematic addressing. The MAPK program has proven to not only equip students with applicable vocational competencies, but also to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit grounded in Islamic values.
