PENGARUH IMPLEMENTASI PROGRAM LITERASI MEMBACA TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA DI SMA NEGERI 17 BULUKUMBA

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the implementation of the reading literacy program on student learning motivation at SMA Negeri 17 Bulukumba. The objectives of this study include: 1) To describe the reality of the implementation of the literacy program at SMA Negeri 17 Bulukumba. 2) To describe the reality of learning motivation at SMA Negeri 17 Bulukumba. 3) To test the effect of the implementation of the reading literacy program on student learning motivation at SMA Negeri 17 Bulukumba. This study uses a quantitative approach with an ex-post facto research type. The study population was 145 people consisting of 20 teachers and 125 students, with a sample of 20 teachers and 95 students selected using proportional random sampling techniques. Data were collected through Likert scale questionnaires and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics including normality tests, simple linear regression linearity tests, T tests, and coefficient of determination tests. The results showed that the reality of the implementation of the reading literacy program was in the moderate category with a value of 60%, which means that the literacy program had been implemented but had not run optimally. Furthermore, the reality of student learning motivation is in the moderate category with a value of 67.365%, which means that student learning motivation at SMA Negeri 17 Bulukumba is good, dominated by intrinsic motivation. This study concludes that the implementation of the reading literacy program does not have a significant effect on increasing student learning motivation at SMA Negeri 17 Bulukumba. This is evidenced by a significance value of 0.689 which is greater than 0.05 and an R Square value of 0.009 which indicates that the contribution of the reading literacy program to learning motivation is only 0.9%.
