PENGUATAN NILAI MORAL MELALUI KEGIATAN OSIS DI SMA 3 PEKANBARU

Abstract

This study analyzes the strengthening of moral values ​​through OSIS activities at SMA Negeri 3 Pekanbaru. Education serves not only to transfer knowledge but also as a tool for building character and morals, which are increasingly threatened by the influence of globalization and digitalization. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study involved OSIS advisors and OSIS members as primary informants selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through observation and interviews to describe the dynamics of instilling moral values ​​in organizational practices. The research findings indicate that OSIS plays a vital role in developing leadership, a sense of responsibility, discipline, and social awareness among students. OSIS members experienced a shift in attitude from a personal focus to social sensitivity, empathy, and solidarity. Internal conflicts such as competition or differences of opinion serve as a platform for moral learning, particularly in terms of emotional and ego control. The advisors emphasized that OSIS is more than just an implementer of school programs, but rather a moral laboratory where students internalize values ​​through habits, examples, and social activities. Activities such as fundraising for disasters and humanitarian aid foster empathy and shared responsibility. The integration of rational logic and religious values ​​in the development of the Student Council (OSIS) further strengthens students' ability to make wise decisions while maintaining ethical behavior. Overall, the OSIS at SMA Negeri 3 Pekanbaru has proven effective in shaping students into individuals with character, responsibility, and concern for others. This research emphasizes the importance of designing an OSIS program oriented toward moral education to create a generation that excels not only academically but also possesses integrity in social life.
