PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN DESAIN GRAFIS MELALUI CANVA PADA ANAK TUNAGRAHITA RINGAN DI SLB-C YPPLB MAKASSAR

Abstract

The problem studied in this study is the limited graphic design skills of children with mild intellectual disabilities, characterized by low ability to use basic Canva features such as opening the template menu, adding text, arranging elements, and saving design results. The purpose of this study is to determine the improvement of graphic design skills through the use of Canva in children with mild intellectual disabilities at SLB-C YPPLB Makassar. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with a descriptive research type that focuses on changes in abilities before and after using Canva. The subject of this study was a child with mild intellectual disabilities in grade X with the initials N who has low graphic design skills. The data collection technique used was a practical test (action test) adjusted to the indicators of graphic design skills. Data analysis was carried out by comparing the test results before and after using Canva and describing the test results. The conclusion of this study is 1) the graphic design skills of children with mild intellectual disabilities before using Canva are in the poor category, 2) the graphic design skills of children with mild intellectual disabilities after using Canva are in the good category, 3) there is an increase in graphic design skills in children with mild intellectual disabilities through the use of Canva from the poor category to the good category. This study shows that the use of Canva can help improve graphic design skills in children with mild intellectual disabilities.
