PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN UTAPSI (ULAR TANGGA PINTAR EDUKASI) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP IPAS SISWA KELAS IV SDN 26 CAKRANEGARA

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of the low understanding of IPS concepts among fourth-grade students at SDN 26 Cakranegara. This condition is caused by the lack of utilization of innovative and interactive learning media that can help students understand the learning material. This study aims to develop Utapsi learning media that are valid, practical, and effective in improving the conceptual understanding of fourth-grade students at SDN 26 Cakranegara. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The results of the study show that: (1) Utapsi media is declared very feasible or valid based on validation tests by material experts, obtaining a percentage of 80%, and media experts, obtaining 92.5%. (2) Utapsi media is declared very practical to use in the learning process, as evidenced by the teacher response questionnaire, which obtained a score of 96%.. and the student response questionnaire in the field trial stage, which reached 94%. (3) Utapsi Media has been proven effective in improving students' understanding of IPAS concepts. Based on the trial results, there was an increase in the average score from a pretest of 56.79 to a posttest of 85.89. In addition, the effectiveness analysis using the N-Gain formula showed a score of 0.69, which falls into the 'Quite Effective' category. Thus, Utapsi media is feasible and effective to use as a learning aid to optimize the understanding of IPS material for fourth-grade elementary school students
