IMPLEMENTASI MANAJEMEN SARANA DAN PRASARANA EKSTRAKURIKULER KEOLAHRAGAAN DALAM MENDUKUNG BAKAT DAN MINAT PESERTA DIDIK SMA AKSARA BAJENG KAB.GOWA

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the implementation of sports extracurricular facilities and infrastructure management at SMA Aksara Bajeng, Gowa Regency, in supporting the development of students’ interests and talents. The main focus of this study includes how management functions such as planning, procurement, storage, maintenance, inventory, and accountability of sports facilities are carried out effectively, as well as how such management contributes to increasing students’ participation in sports extracurricular activities. In addition, this study also identifies various obstacles encountered and the strategies employed by the school to overcome them.This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques consisting of field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the principal, sports teachers, and students. The data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while the validity of the data was tested using source and technique triangulation.The results of the study indicate that the management of sports facilities and infrastructure at SMA Aksara Bajeng has been implemented quite effectively, supported by solid coordination among the school management, teachers, and students. Although there are still limitations in funding and some facilities have begun to deteriorate, the management is carried out in a planned and participatory manner through routine maintenance, gradual procurement, and cooperation with sponsors. This management has a positive impact on improving students’ motivation, discipline, and interests and talents in sports such as futsal, volleyball, and badminton.The implication of this study confirms that optimal management of facilities and infrastructure plays an important role in creating effective and sustainable extracurricular activities, as well as contributing to the development of students’ character, physical fitness, and overall achievement.
