PENERAPAN METODE TALAQQI DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA TAHSIN AL-QUR’AN SANTRI DI PONDOK PESANTREN TAHFIDZUL QUR’AN KH. UMAR BARRAD MERANGIN JAMBI

Abstract

This study aims to determine the students’ ability in reading tahsin of the Qur’an, to analyze the implementation of the talaqqi method, and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in improving the students’ ability to read the Qur’an at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidzul Qur’an KH. Umar Barrad Merangin Jambi. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was tested through source, method, and theory triangulation. The results of the study show that the students’ tahsin reading ability is generally categorized as fairly good. Most students are able to read the Qur’an fluently and understand the basic rules of tajwid, although some errors are still found in makharijul huruf, vowel length (mad), and the application of tajwid rules in certain verses. The implementation of the talaqqi method is carried out through direct interaction between teachers and students, where the teacher provides a correct recitation, students imitate it, and immediate corrections are given. This method is considered effective in improving students’ tahsin reading ability because it provides direct feedback and individualized learning. Supporting factors include competent teachers, students’ motivation, and a conducive learning environment, while inhibiting factors include limited resident teachers, differences in students’ abilities, lack of focus and independent practice, and students’ boredom during the learning process. Therefore, the talaqqi method has a positive contribution to improving students’ tahsin reading ability, although further development is still needed to optimize its implementation.
