ANALISIS KONTEN : ANALISIS NILAI EMPATI DAN ANTI-BULLYING DALAM FILM JUMBO SEBAGAI MEDIA EDUKASI BAGI ANAK DAN ORANG TUA

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the values of empathy and anti-bullying in the Jumbo film and examine its potential as an educational medium for children and parents. The method used is qualitative content analysis with a semiotic approach, with units of analysis in the form of scenes, dialogue, visual expressions, and narratives. The result of the study show that the Jumbo film contains various representations of bullying, both verbal and non-verbal, such as giving negative nicknames and belitting the abilities of others. In addition, this film also displays the value of empathy that develops through interactions between characters, such as the ability to understand other people’s feelings, changes in attitude to be more caring, and responsibility in keeping promises. These values provide a strong moral message about the importance of respecting differences, builing social awareness, and rejecting all forms of bullying. Thus, the Jumbo film has the potential to be an effective educational medium in instilling the value of empathy and anti- bullying attitudes in children and increasing parental awareness in children and increasing parental awareness in accompanying the development of children’s character.
