PENERAPAN MODEL INSIDE-OUTSIDE CIRCLE (IOC) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEAKTIFAN SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN SEJARAH KELAS XI IPS 2 MAN 1 DUMAI

Abstract

This research aims to improve student activity through the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) learning model. The approach used is a quantitative approach with the type of research in the form of research on the class (Classroom Action Research). The implementation of this research consists of two cycles with the flow of planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation activities. The setting of this research was carried out at MAN 1 Dumai where the research subjects were 30 students of class XI IPS 2 with 26 female students and 6 male students. In this research, there were 4 meetings with 2 cycles. The instruments used in this research were observation and evaluation sheets. While the data collection techniques used in this research were observation and documentation sheets. The results of the study showed a positive increase in each phase. In the first meeting of cycle I, the percentage of teacher activity reached 62.50% with a good category, then increased in the second meeting to 67.50% (good category), with an average success rate of teacher activity observations of 54% which was included in the sufficient category. Meanwhile, a significant positive impact was clearly seen in the main aspect studied, namely student activity. In cycle 1, the percentage of student activity reached 70%, which is considered very good. This indicator continued to strengthen in cycle 2, where the level of student activity jumped to 81%. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) learning model has proven effective and successfully increased the activity of class XI IPS 2 students at MAN 1 Dumai in learning History. Through this IOC model, students share information, discuss, and actively move, so that their understanding becomes deeper.
