Abstract

The digital era presents new challenges for Pancasila education, particularly in instilling living and reflective national values among the younger generation. Traditional learning practices that remain lecture-oriented tend to result in low and merely normative internalization of Pancasila values among university students. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Artificial Intelligence based Problem Based Learning in enhancing the internalization of Pancasila values among students of the Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) Study Program. This research employs a quasi-experimental design, which is used when researchers are unable to fully randomize research subjects. The research population consisted of 98 PPKn students, with 79 students randomly selected as the research sample. Data were collected through questionnaires, pretest posttest instruments, and interviews. Data analysis utilized a combination of quantitative methods to assess improvements in the internalization of Pancasila values as well as students’ responses to the implementation of Artificial Intelligence based Problem-Based Learning. The results indicate that the implementation of Artificial Intelligence–based Problem Based Learning significantly increases student engagement in discussions, critical thinking skills, and the internalization of Pancasila values, such as justice, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), and social responsibility. Students demonstrated improved ability to respond to social issues using reflective and value-based arguments, along with more interactive and meaningful learning experiences
