EFEKTIVITAS MEDIA ANIMASI DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS TEKS NARASI PADA SISWA KELAS IV SEKOLAH DASAR

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of animated media in improving the narrative writing skills of fourth-grade students at SDN Cipriangan, Sukabumi. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects consisted of 19 students in the experimental class (IV A) and 19 students in the control class (IV B), selected based on the completeness of their data. The data collection instrument consisted of a narrative writing test evaluated using an analytical rubric adapted from Oktrifianty (2021), covering the aspects of plot and storyline, characters and characterization, setting, point of view, and moral message. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Levene homogeneity test, calculation of the N-Gain Score, and Welch’s T-Test. The results showed that the average posttest score for the experimental class was 82.89, significantly higher than that of the control class at 71.58. The experimental class’s N-Gain reached 61.15 (moderate category), far exceeding the control class’s N-Gain of 30.54. The Welch’s T-Test yielded a t-value of 3.365 with p = 0.002 < 0.05 and Cohen’s d = 1.092, indicating a very large effect size. These findings demonstrate that animated media significantly and effectively improves students’ narrative writing skills, as it provides visual-auditory stimuli that help students better understand narrative elements and develop story ideas.
