UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERCERITA ISI TEKS NARASI MENGGUNAKAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PAIRED STORYTELLING BERBANTUAN MEDIA WORDWALL PADA SISWA KELAS IV UPTD SD NEGERI 10 JULI

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low speaking skills of students, especially in retelling story content. The purpose of the study was to determine the improvement of students’ narrative storytelling skills, as well as the activities of teachers and students, students’ interest, seriousness, self-confidence, and responses of fourth-grade students at UPTD SD Negeri 10 Juli through the paired storytelling learning model assisted by wordwall media. This study used a qualitative approach with the type of Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subjects consisted of 18 students (8 boys and 10 girls). Data were collected through storytelling tests, observations, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the mastery of storytelling skills in Cycle I was 55.56% (fair) and increased in Cycle II to 88.89% (very good). Teacher activity increased from 85% (good) in Cycle I to 92.73% (very good) in Cycle II. Student activity also improved from 80.46% (good) to 88.18% (good). Students’ responses to the learning process were categorized as positive, with 58.9% strongly agreeing and 33.3% agreeing that the model improved their storytelling skills. Therefore, the implementation of the paired storytelling learning model assisted by wordwall media was proven to improve students’ storytelling skills.
