PENGARUH PEMBELAJARAN PPKn TERHADAP CIVIC ECOLOGY SISWA SMP NEGERI 26 KOTA JAMBI

Abstract

The problem in this study is motivated by the still low level of civic ecology or awareness and participation of some students in maintaining cleanliness and sustainability of the school environment, even though the school has a vision of character and environmental insight and carries out various environmental care activities. This condition shows a gap between school programs and students' daily real behavior. Therefore, PPKn learning is seen as having an important role in instilling the values ​​of responsibility, mutual cooperation, and concern for the environment. This study aims to determine the effect of PPKn learning on civic ecology of students of SMP Negeri 26 Kota Jambi. This study uses an associative quantitative approach with an ex-post facto survey method. The study population was 569 students, with a sample of 123 students determined using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires and secondary data obtained from PPKn teachers of SMP Negeri 26 Kota Jambi. Data were analyzed using the Spearman rank test with the help of SPSS version 26. The results showed that PPKn learning did not have a significant effect on civic ecology of students of SMP Negeri 26 Kota Jambi. This is evidenced by a significance value of 0.887 > 0.05 and a correlation coefficient of 0.013, which is in the very weak category. The coefficient of determination also shows that the contribution of PPKn learning to civic ecology is only 0.0169%, with the remaining 99.98% influenced by other factors
