PENERAPAN MEDIA GOOGLE SITES DALAM MENINGKATKAN MINAT BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA DI SMP KRISTEN SA’DAN

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning interest of students in Indonesian language learning caused by the use of monotonous and less interactive learning media. The study aimed to determine students’ learning interest before and after the implementation of Google Sites learning media at SMP Kristen Sa’dan. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The population consisted of 167 eighth-grade students, while the sample involved 55 students selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires based on learning interest indicators, including feelings of pleasure, attraction, attention, and participation in learning activities. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques by calculating percentages and average scores of students’ learning interest before and after the implementation of Google Sites. The results showed that students’ learning interest increased significantly after the use of Google Sites media. Before implementation, students’ learning interest reached 65.59% and was categorized as moderate. After implementation, the percentage increased to 85.84% and was categorized as high, with an improvement of 20.25%. These findings indicate that Google Sites learning media effectively increases students’ learning interest because it creates more interactive, attractive, and flexible learning activities. Therefore, Google Sites can be used as an innovative digital learning medium to support Indonesian language learning in junior high schools.
