MODUL AJAR BERBASIS SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS: SEBUAH STUDI PENGEMBANGAN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA DI MIN 2 KOTA SURABAYA

This research aims to develop a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) based teaching module on building materials and test its feasibility and effectiveness in improving the learning outcomes of grade VI students of MIN 2 Surabaya City. The research background is based on the low mathematics learning outcomes of students, the limitations of interesting teaching materials, and learning that is still teacher-centered. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects consisted of 31 grade VI students who were divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data collection techniques use interviews, observations, documentation, questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The results of the study show that STEM-based teaching modules have a very high level of feasibility based on the validation of design experts of 84%, material experts of 98%, and validation of research instruments of 100%. In terms of effectiveness, the average score of the learning outcomes of the experimental group increased from 72 in the pretest to 85 in the posttest, with the percentage of completeness increasing from 41.3% to 85.6%. Meanwhile, the control group only increased from 73.8 to 74.37. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, while the independent sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.015 < 0.05. These findings prove that STEM-based teaching modules are effective in improving student learning outcomes in building materials. Thus, the modules developed are suitable for use as an innovation of mathematics teaching materials in elementary schools.
